= 저 데이트상대로 오려고 했었는데,

* be supposed to 동사원형 = 동사원형 하려고 계획하다.

* a date = 데이트 상대

 

but he just hurt his back, which is very ironic

= 허리를 다쳤어요, 좀 아이러니 하긴 하죠.

 

because he's young and healthy.

= 왜냐하면 젊고 건강하거든요.

 

My mom started drinking these cocktails called "horny Colombians"

= 엄마는 “흥분한 콜롬비아인들”이라는 칵테일들을 마시기 시작했어요..

 

with some of Gloria's uncles, whom, apparently, the drink was named after.

= 글로리아 삼촌 몇 분이랑요.. 음료수가 그 사람들 이름을 딴 것 같았어요.

* be named after N = N의 이름에서 유래되다, N의 이름을 따서 이름을 짓다.

 

Oh, come on, they were funny.

= 아, 왜이래, 그 사람들 재밌었어

 

They kept patting my butt. Somebody's full of herself.

= 그 사람들 내 엉덩이 계속 쓰다듬었어. 누가 자신감이 충만하네.

* pat = (특히 애정을 담아) 쓰다듬다, 토닥거리다

* be full of oneself = 자신의 일에만 골몰하여, 자만하여, 거만하여

 

It's a Colombian wedding tradition, they said.

= 콜롬비아 결혼 전통이야, 그 사람들이 그러더라.

= 건배하고 싶어요.

 

Yeah, nana got totally wasted.

= 네, 할머니가 완전히 술 취하셨어요.

* nana = nanny = granny = 할머니

* wasted = 술에 찌든, 약물에 찌든, 특히 병으로 쇠약한

 

It was really funny.

 

Then it was gross.

= 그러고 나서 무례해졌죠

* gross = (격식, 법률) 중대한 / (비격식) 역겨운 / 아주 무례한

= 신부와 신랑, 나의 전남편에게

* groom = bridgegroom = 신랑

 

35 years we were together, and he couldn't wait 10 minutes to run off with charo.

This was way worse.

* way = 강조의 의미

* drive sb crazy = sb를 미치게 하다.

* step in = (합의 도출, 문제 해결을 위해) 돕고 나서다, 개입하다.

* fall asleep = 잠들다.

= 친구들과 좋은 시간을 보낸 미소죠

* have (such) a good time with sb = sb와 (정말로) 좋은 시간을 보내다.

I thought it was my funny take on current events.

= 현 상황에 대한 저의 재밌는 관점 때문이라고 생각했어요.

* take on N = the way that a particular person thinks about or understands something; a distinct point of view = (N에 대한) 관점, 특정 시각

ex) what’s your take on what happened? = 일어난 일에 대해서 너의 관점은 어때?

* current events = 현재 상황, 시사

 

Why would they do something like that? Don't worry about it.

= 왜 걔네들이 이런 짓을 할까? 그건 걱정하지 마.

 

Guys pull pranks like that all the time. You just got to prank 'em back.

= 남자들은 항상 그런 장난하는 거지. 너도 단지 걔네들한테 복수하면 되지

* prank = 농담으로 하는 장난 / 장난을 치다

* all the time = 항상

* gotta 동사원형 = got to 동사원형 = have got to 동사원형 = 동사원형 해야 한다

* prank sb back = sb에게 장난을 돌려주다, sb에게 장난으로 복수하다.

 

Just got to show 'em you're willing to give as good as you get.

= 그냥 걔네들한테 보여줘야 돼. 너도 기꺼이 네가 받았던 만큼 주겠다는 걸..

* be willing to 동사원형 = 기꺼이 동사원형 하다.

* as good as 주어 get = 주어보다 더 좋을 수는 없다. 충분히 좋다.

Well, mom, instead of dredging up the whole incident, maybe we should just try and repress it.

= 음, 엄마, 전체 사건을 다시 들추기보다는,, 감정을 좀 눌러보는 걸 해봐요.

* dredge up = to start talking or thinking again about (something unpleasant that happened a long time ago) = 불쾌한 일 등을 다시 이야기 꺼내다

* dredge = remove mud from the bottom of (a lake, river, etc.) in order to deepen it or to search for something = 무언가를 파헤치다.

* instead of N = N 하기보다는,하기 보다는 N대신에..

* repress = 감정을 참다, 억누르다, 억압하다.
