< (just) in case >

: It is an idiomatic phrase that we use when we talk about taking precautions.(~할 것에 대비해서)
= 우리가 조심할 때, 경계할 떄 사용하는 구문

: “Just in case…” is a common informal version of the phrase.

= in case 대신에, Just in case를 비격식체로 사용할 수 있음

* (just) in case 주어 서술어~, = 주어가 서술어한 경우를 대비해서

ex) In case it rains I will take an umbrella = 비가 내릴 때를 대비해서, 우산을 가져가겠다

= 나중에 비가내릴 가능성이 있기 때문에, 지금 우산을 가져가겠다.

= This means: Because there is a possibility that it will rain later, I will take an umbrella now.

ex) In case my house burns down I’ll take out insurance.

(BEFORE my house burns down, as a precaution)

= 우리집이 불에탈 경우를 대비해서 보험에 들 것이다.

ex) In case I have a car accident I’ll wear a seatbelt. (BEFORE I have an accident, as a precaution)

= 내가 자동차 사고가 일어날 경우를 대비해서 안전벨트를 맬 것이다.

ex) In case the Lessee does not pay the Rent within three days of the Lessor’s final request, the Lessor is entitled to terminate the Agreement without notice.

= 임차인이 임대인의 최종 요구일로부터 3일 이내에 임대료를 납부하지 않을 경우에 대비해서, 임대인은 통지없이 계약을 해지할 권리가 있다.

= This means: Because there is a possibility that the Lessee will not pay the Rent within three days of the Lessor’s final request, the Lessor is entitled to terminate the Agreement without notice BEFORE the Lessee’s non-payment, as a precaution. The Lessee would be unlikely to agree to this clause.

= in the case of의 의미는 "~에 관해서"라는 의미의 as regards / with regard to / as far as / is concerened for 등의 의미를 지님
