* fall for = 매혹되다

* 실언을 하다 = 말실수를 하다 = I put my foot in my mouth

* thumbs up = 좋아, 최고야, 잘 해봐

ex) All the critics have given it a big thumbs up. = 영화평론가들마다 극찬을 했다.

* thumbs down = 별로야

* talk to the hand = 말을 듣기 싫다, 당신 말에 관심 없다 (보통 손바닥을 편 채 상대방을 향해 손을 쭉 내밀면서 말하는 경우가 많다.)

* cross one’s fingers = keep one’s fingers crossed = 행운을 빈다

* toe to toe = directly opposing or competing with each other: = 직접적으로 서로 경쟁하다.
